Nashville Peace Festival

Well my dear readers here we are again.  I am now 2,462 miles East of L.A on my way to D.C.  Currently I am 80 miles from Knowxille,TN.  The weather is starting to get really hot.  The good news is I'm getting a great tan from it all, at least on my knees and arms, the rest of me is snow white.

It's been quite a busy two weeks for this peace walker.  I had the great fortune to arrive in Nashville right at the same time the local peace festival was happening.   Through some incredible events, I got asked to open the festival.  I was also given a table and tent so that I could sell t-shirts and give out info about the walk .  How all that came to be is another story in itself.  Let's just say that when we drop the oars and go with the flow, incredible things can and do happen.

There were peace organizations from all over Nashville and the surrounding areas.  It was such a great experience to meet so many people doing there bit to promote peace.  We hear so little about these wonderfull activists on the news, but I can tell you that they are out there and they are making and being the change they wish to see in the World.  It gives me such comfort to know that so many people are not only talking about peace, but also working for it.

Gandhi said, "Peace will come from the grassroots level",  and what I have experienced so far on my little walkabout, would confirm this.  Some of us working all the time for Peace will make the news, but a lot of us working some of the time for Peace will make history.   Everything we do adds up.  So do what you can.  Start with yourself and work your way outwards.

I just want to say a huge thank you to all the people at The Farm who made me feel so welcomed and to all the people at the peace festival who supported our center by buying a Gandhi t-shirt.  Take care for now dear friends and I will be writing soon.  Peace and Truth always and in all ways,  Dermot Butterly   aka Gandhi Rolling Stone :)
